September’s Event:

peachdaysWe would like to thank all of you who rode on the Ron Simkins & Garth Isom familiesfloat with us. It was a fun way of advertising the S.U.P. It would have been better if the float had been full, but we understand there were others riding on other floats. Our congratulations to Lloyd and LaNorma Sandberg who weMr. & Mrs. Lloyd Sandbergre the Grand Marshalls of the Peach Days parade. We are glad that you are members of our group and wish you well in the future.

We would also like to thank those who helped in the root beer booth. It was a lot of fun and we sold a lot of root beer. Some customers even told us that we were one of the one of the big reasons that they enjoy Peach Days! They said that our root beer is wonderful! We would like to especially thank Devon Armstrong for setting up the booth and taking care of making the root beer. He spent the whole year looking for specials for the items we needed at the booth. His efforts made the Root Beer project a big success.

Also, from September 17th thru the 19th the National SUP held their convention in Ogden, Utah. Garth Isom and David Hinton were there for the Nat’l Training. The training took place at the Ogden Tabernacle which is on the Ogden Temple grounds, or vice versa, as the tabernacle has been there since 1957. Here are just a few pictures from the training session.

October 21st Mormon Battalion Presentation by Nick Scholzen. The Battalion has a great group organized here in Washington Battalion Conestoga County. The original Mormon Battalion Nick Scholzen 2 played a very important part in Mormon history and the settlement of the west. Come and let Nick entertain you with information about these brave and faithful men (and women) who served their country in spite of how the U.S. government treated them. It will be held at the American Legion Hall Wednesday the 21st at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner will be pot-luck as usual. We would encourage you to bring a friend with you as well. We feel that this presentation will be a good one to help bring in new members, and your bringing a friend would greatly facilitate this opportunity.
